Learn together and make marvellous clay art!
These practical, hands on classes are perfect for families to get creative and have some messy fun. You will make everything yourself, from scratch!
Each session begins with a short demonstration of modelling techniques and how to throw a pot on the wheel. Next it’s over to you to get squidging and sculpting your ideas to life. Finish your creations with a splash of coloured underglaze paints and leave the rest to me. I will then glaze and fire your work, ready for collection about 4 weeks later.
Clay is naturally tactile so enables children of any age and ability to learn skills and develop at their own pace.
Kids Clay Time classes are suitable for children over four years old, run for two hours and cost £18 per child. One accompanying adult goes for free. Groups are small and friendly catering for up to 8 children.
All workshops run at my studio in Christchurch unless otherwise advertised.

What I offer
- Kids Clay Time – Family ceramics workshops that run during school holidays.
- Saturday Clay Club – Every second Saturday of the month I run a workshop. Create anything from marvellous mugs to animal sculptures!
- Pop-Up Pottery is mobile and can bring the clay studio to a venue of your choice. Make & Take sessions are accessible for all. We use special air dry earthenware clay (or ‘hairy’ clay as I call it), so you can take what you make home on the day, and paint with regular poster paints.
- You can also book Pottery Parties for birthdays or as a group booking for the whole family!
What you say…
“Thank you for a lovely time today. Loki had a fantastic time. We will be back!”
“My two boys age 4 and 8 really enjoyed it. It was great fun, I enjoyed helping my youngest with his creation while my eldest was given help to create his dragon vase by himself. Both boys couldn’t wait to see the finished products and really want to come back and make some more clay things.”
“Both of my girls were busy for the whole two hour session and thought it was amazing – they couldn’t wait to paint the things they had made.”
“Great workshop, my boys loved it, a lot of fun for the whole family :)”
