Pottery workshops that focus on specific techniques and set projects. And if you are keen to learn more, the Introduction to Ceramics Course will give you the opportunity to learn a broad range of pottery techniques and enable you to make your own designs. Your pottery will be fired and glazed for collection around 6 weeks later (or delivery for P&P costs). Suitable for all skill levels. Class sizes are small and friendly, and Imogen will be tutoring throughout.
Introduction to Ceramics Course – £144

This 6 week course offers people the opportunity to explore working with clay. The sessions are suitable for all skill levels, so if you are a beginner or a maker wanting to further develop your practice. Imogen will demonstrate a range of hand building techniques, wheel throwing, surface design and you will learn about different clays and glazing. This will enable you to develop a personal design led project, whether you want to make large sculptural work or tableware.
Tuesday Clay – weekly pottery sessions – £20 per person
Duration 2.5 hours, Tuesdays 10am to 12:30pm & 18:00pm to 20:30pm

These weekly classes are for anyone who has already attended a pottery workshop. The sessions are relaxed and unstructured, designed for returning students to work independently on personal projects and to improve skills. You will have full access to studio equipment. Classes need to be booked in advance and cost of materials and firing is extra.
Wild Clay – TBA
Duration: 5 hours, 10am to 4pm

Come and discover working with wild clay. You will learn how to identify and prepare locally sourced clay direct from the ground. We will use hand building methods to create simple vessels. We will also look at ways to apply surface pattern. Your work will then be fired for collection later. This workshop is open to all skill levels. You can expect to make up to two small pieces to be fired.
raku workshop –
Duration: 10am to 1pm

Learn about the exciting process of Raku! Choose from a selection of handmade biscuit fired pots. You will then use a range of prepared glazes to decorate your pot. We will then work together to load and fire the Raku kiln. Watch as your pots are fired, then put into the reduction box. Finally give them a wash to reveal the glaze transformation. This is a thrilling process, suitable for beginners or if you have previous experience and wish to have your own pots fired using this technique. You will be able to take your raku-fired pieces away with you on the day.
