Learn together and make marvellous clay art!
Kids Clay Time — pottery workshops for children that run during school holidays and every second Saturday of the month.
These practical, hands on creative classes are for families to have quality time & messy (though not too messy) fun! Kids will make everything themselves, from scratch, using real clay.
Every workshop begins with a demonstration of how to throw a pot on the wheel and clay modeling techniques. After that it’s time to get squidging and sculpting those ideas to life. Finally creations are finished with a splash of coloured underglaze paints. Once dry, Imogen will glaze and kiln fire work, ready for collection about 4-6 weeks later.
Clay is naturally tactile so enables children of any age and ability to learn skills and develop at their own pace. It’s also lots of fun!
- Classes run for two hours and cost £20 per child. One accompanying adult goes for free
- Suitable for children between four and sixteen years old (please support children under nine)
- Groups are relaxed and friendly catering for up to 8 children

What you say…
“Thank you for a lovely time today. Loki had a fantastic time. We will be back!”
“My two boys age 4 and 8 really enjoyed it. It was great fun, I enjoyed helping my youngest with his creation while my eldest was given help to create his dragon vase by himself. Both boys couldn’t wait to see the finished products and really want to come back and make some more clay things.”
“Both of my girls were busy for the whole two hour session and thought it was amazing – they couldn’t wait to paint the things they had made.”
“Great workshop, my boys loved it, a lot of fun for the whole family :)”
“Kids had such a good time at the workshop yesterday so wanted to say a big thanks for providing such a kid friendly intro to clay. One little girl definitely up for more!”
