Learn about the exciting process of Raku! Choose from a selection of handmade biscuit fired pots. You will then use a range of prepared glazes to decorate your pot. We will then work together to load and fire the Raku kiln. Watch as your pots are fired, then taken out of the kiln red hot! Use reduction techniques to alter the glazes. Finally give them a wash to reveal the glaze transformation. This is a thrilling process, suitable for beginners or if you have previous experience. If you wish to have your own pots fired using this technique, you’re welcome to bring them along. You will be able to take your raku fired ceramics away with you on the day.
Class sizes are small and friendly with 6 people, and Imogen will provide tuition throughout.
The price (of £50) per person includes tuition, materials & kiln firing. You can expect to glaze two pieces of pottery to be fired.
