Description

Learn about the exciting process of Raku! Choose from a selection of handmade biscuit fired pots. You will then decorate your pots with glazes. We will then work together to load and fire the Raku kiln. Watch as your pots are fired, then taken out of the kiln red hot! Use reduction techniques to alter the glazes. Finally give them a wash to reveal the glaze transformation. This is a thrilling process, suitable for beginners or if you have previous experience. Potters are welcome have their own pots glazed – please get in touch to discuss requrements. You will be able to take your Raku fired ceramics away with you on the day.

  • Class sizes are small & welcoming with a maximum of six students per group, ensuring plenty of tuition. Courses are suitable for over 16s only.
  • Please dress for mess! The firing will take place outside, so bring appropriate clothing for the time of year and weather. Enclosed toe shoes recommended.
