Courses & Workshops

If you have tried a taster class and are keen to learn more, or would like a relaxing weekend being creative, these courses are for you.

12 week Ceramics Course – £300 pp

Duration 3 hours, 10am or 6pm

Dates 2024: 12 weeks from March to May

Weekly ceramics classes provide you with the space to make. The sessions are suitable for all skill levels, but you do need to have attended a pottery class before as an introduction if you’ve no previous experience. The course is not structured as the one off workshops, with the aim for you to work on your own with guidance and tution as needed.

The pace of the course is entirely down to you, with the aim to work on your personal design led project. You can make sculptural work, tableware or anything in between. Completed work will be glazed and fired for an additional cost.  Classes are welcoming, providing opportunity to enjoy a social activity and immerse yourself in creativity.

Each term is 4 weeks, payable in advance (total £300) Materials and firings for your work are extra, based on weight and materials used.

Weekend Throwing Course – £260 pp

Duration 12 hours, 10am to 4pm each day

Dates 2024: 4th & 5th May •

A two day wheel throwing course for beginner and improver potters to immerse yourself in the process. Perfect for a rural retreat weekend break.

Day one will cover the basics of throwing cylinders up until lunchtime. If you already know the fundamentals, we can look at honing those skills to help you progress. The afternoon is time to practice, working more at your own pace.

Day two, you will have time to practice and progress what you’ve learnt on the first day. You will then be able to turn and trim pots from the first day, and add handles.

You can expect to make lots of pots, and choose three to be fired and glazed with one of the studio glazes.

Complimentary refreshments included. Please bring a packed lunch.
