Pottery for Schools

Motivating and inspiring clay workshops to develop creative skills and imagination! These hands on practical sessions support children’s individual development to produce original work. I can work with teachers to deliver a bespoke and engaging workshop to your class.

Participants will learn about the materials, the making process, and practice basic skills. They then work together or make their own designs in clay. Projects can run for two hours or a full day.

Suitable for all ages and abilities from early years through to KS3.

What I offer

I will supply everything to run a fully immersive and engaging workshop. This includes tuition, materials, tools (including pottery wheels!) and handouts.

POP UP POTTERY – fully mobile pottery studio comes to your classroom or group. Either make & take sessions use air dry clay, or fired clay (where work will be taken off site and returned later).

STUDIO VISIT – come to my ceramics studio and make everything yourself from scratch using raw clay. Work will be kiln fired for collection 4-6 weeks later.

COLLABORATIVE – create group art pieces for school installation such as ceramic tile mural or sculptural monument. Designs are created in the classroom during artist led workshops. A rewarding experience for all.

INDIVIDUAL – each student is offered support to bring their own ideas to life. This can be a themed project to support a subject or a short introduction session focussing on clay as a material.
